Lot of 6 hardbound books containing stories about the quest for gold, as well as the colorful characters who undertook that challenge. 1. "Life in the Mines, or Crimes Avenged" by Charles Simpson, 1899. Copiously Illustrated by H.S. DeLay. Loose binding. 343 pages. 2) "Digging Gold Among the Rockies" by G. Thomas Ingham, 1888. 452 pages. 3) "Digging for Gold, A Story of California" by Horatio Alger Jr, 1892. 352 pages. 4) "The Gold Hunters of California," by Thomas Edwin Farish, 1904. A signed edition. This is a collection of stories, dealing with such famous period figures as W.C. Ralston, George Hearst, Senator David Broderick and Louis Sloss. 5) "Three Years in California` by Rev. Walter Colton U.S.N. 1854, dedicated to Gen. Mariano Guadalupe Vallejo "One of California`s Distinguished Sons." 456 pages. 6) "Mother Lode, the Story of Gold Rush Days" by Louis J. Stellman, 1939.
