Lot 448 Coloma Postcards CA - Coloma,El Dorado County - c1900-1915 - General Americana
Lot of 10 white border RPCs and real photo postcards. They show historical places within Coloma, including the 1849 Chinese banks, old mine street, Marshall’s cabin, drawing of Sutter’s Mill and other views. Postcards have little to some wear. Coloma was a town that developed after the discovery of gold at Sutter’s Mill. The name is derived from a nearby Maidu village [Ref: California Place Names, Erwin Gudde, 1949, p. 75].
