Lot 1074 Varney Patent Candlesticks Mining Hard goods/Important Mining Publications
Lot of 6. The Varney Company was headquartered in Denver, Colorado and was very active in the making of miners candlesticks. This is a collection of six examples of Varney's patent, a very simple and practical design, that is formed from one piece of metal with no rivets to attachments. Two are stamped, BONANZA, with one measuring 9.5", the other 10.5". Two are stamped RUSSELL and are 11" and 12" respectively. The one marked IMPERIAL is 10" and the ROYAL stamped stick is 10.5" long. All are in very nice condition, the ROYAL one having a bit more rust. - Jacobitz Collection
