Lot 1091 Rosenhahn's Field Test Kit CA - Sonoma County,Mining Hard goods/Important Mining Publications
Wooden case, 17" x 8.5" x 13". Has flip-top lid and fold-down tray. Inside are 3 removable trays with a multitude of chemical reagent bottles (most filled), glass stopper bottles, watch glasses, test tubes, eye droppers, beakers, syringes, various small tools, a sheaf of hand-written notes and instructions, large chemical liquid bottles, and 2 White Owl Cigar boxes filled with yet more chemistry materials. The mineral Rosenhahnite was discovered in the Russian River area of Sonoma County, CA, by Leo Rosenhahn (1904-1991), an amateur Bay Area mineralogist. This specimen is also included in the lot. 1.25” long, collected in 1962 by Rosenhahn. From the M.D. Kast Collection.
