Lot 1202 Twiaba Druggist Bottle NV - Elko,c1872 - Nevada Bottles
Only 4 of these rare aqua patent medicine bottles are currently accounted for. The bottle is embossed on its 2 narrow sides with "TWIABA" and "WARRANTED." This bottle has an applied top, and no maker's mark on the base. This bottle was marketed by J.H. Lukens, Eureka Nevada, sold regionally as a patent medicine. The "Twiaba" formula was a product touted as a hair restorative. This tonic was developed by Joseph F. Boardman in 1871, and received a patent under the name "XTwiabaX" described as "Nevada Natural Hair Restorative of White Sage" [Ref: Nevada History Through Glass, Vol II, Fred Holabird, 2012]. - Jacobitz Collection
