Lot 1283 Assorted Dairy Bottles NV - Tonopah,Nye County - c1910-1925 - Nevada Bottles
Lot of 4 dairy: 1) A quart size dairy bottle. Slug plate is embossed “Tonopah/ Nevada” flanking a triangular logo bearing the initials T.P.D. in the corners. The lower portion is also embossed “One Quart.” The bottom bears a “Duraglas/ TPD” embossed maker’s mark. Clear glass, excellent condition. 2) One 4" 1/4 pint bottle, embossed slug plate “Tonopah/ Nevada” flanking a triangular logo bearing the initials T.P.D. in the corners. Bottom embossed maker’s mark “T.P.D.” Clear glass, little staining. 3) One bottle, embossed “Half Pint” on front above embossed “Tonopah/ Nevada” slug plate. Bottom bears no maker’s mark. Clear glass, chipped mouth, long crack in base. 4) One bottle, embossed “half pint” on lower rear. Front is silk screened in orange, which has faded in most places to yellow or off-white, “Sanitary/ Creamery/ Phone 2216/ Tonopah, Nevada” and the rear silk screening reads “Store/ 5 c/ Bottle.” The neck is ribbed and the bottom bears a faint “Store” embossed maker’s mark. This silk-screened bottle is extremely rare, while its embossed mates are common [Ref: Nevada History Through Glass, Vol 1, Fred Holabird, 2012, p. 272]. - Jacobitz Collection
