Lot 1429 Handblown Painted Water Pitcher c1860 - Saloon

Beautiful 11.5” (to top of handle) tall, 4.5” wide hand-blown, hand-enameled pitcher. Rim is decoratively ruffled and styled to subtly resemble a jack-in-the-pulpit. Open pontil indicates that the pitcher was indeed hand-blown. Clear glass. Blue and gold painted trim with hand-enameled white flowers and orange dots. Applied clear handle. Subtly ribbed interior. Three bubbles throughout body. Minimal wear to the enameling. No maker’s mark. Given this pitcher’s construction and style of design, it was likely made in the mid-1800s. - Jacobitz Collection
