Belgian Pieper Model 1893 Mexican Army Contract Gas Seal Double Action Revolver, #1497, 7.65 Nagant CF cal., 5.5" round barrel marked "Ejercito Mexicano" ("Mexican Army") on topstrap and "(star)/B" at breech, with pinned blade front and notched rear sights; 7-shot "scoop-flute" cylinder has same marking; solid frame with same marking has integral trigger guard and grip straps with lanyard ring at butt, 2-pc. checkered hard rubber grips with "H. Pieper/Patent" in circular panel at top. Mfg'd late 1880s-early '90s, in 5,000 qty. for the Mexican gov't. Condition is near excellent retaining approx. 90% smooth original military blue, with light highpoint wear, sharp edges, and markings. Grips have light wear and sharp logos.
