Remington Model 1871 Army Single-Shot Rolling Block Pistol, NVSN, .50 CF cal., unmarked 8" round barrel has raised blade front sight; receiver marked with maker's name, address,1864-66 patent dates, and "P S" at left has rolling breechblock with auto-extraction, integral trigger guard, "saw-handle" strap, 2-pc. oil-finished walnut forend and grip with "C.R.S." (Curtis R. Stickney) inspector's cartouche at left. Mfg'd. ca. 1872-88, just 6K qty. Condition is good retaining no original finish but bright metal having sharp edges and markings, smooth unmarked wood with clear cartouche. Action is crisp, bright bore has cleaned light frosting and sharp rifling. Est.: $1,000-$1,500. (Antique)
