^Lot 148 Springfield M1 Garand Semi-Automatic Rifle

Springfield M1 Garand Semi-Automatic Rifle, #5827020, .30-06 cal., 24" barrel, parkerized finish, walnut stock set, blade front sight with protectors and adjustable aperture rear sight. Marked on receiver tang "U.S.RIFLE CAL..30 M1 SPRINGFIELD ARMORY"; on right-side barrel "SA" and "3 55". There is a U.S. Defense Dept. eagle cartouche on the left side of the stock forend and a "(circle)/P" firing proof on the underside of the wrist. Includes a very good condition CMP invoice, owner's manual, and "M1 Garand Correct Grade" Certificate of Authenticity, along with 9 en bloc clips. The bolt, trigger housing, hammer, and operating rod are all marked "SA". Condition overall is very good with the metal retaining over 90% finish, showing light wear to the left bolt lug and patina to the buttplate. Wood is very good showing handling marks and impressions to the even colored finish. Action operates smoothly, bright bore is excellent with sharp well-defined rifling. No visible import marks.
