Japanese Type 44 Arisaka Bolt Action Carbine, with Folding Bayonet, #40990, 6.5x50mm, 19.2" barrel, blued finish, two-piece hardwood stock set, inverted "V" front sight with protectors and adjustable folding leaf rear sight. Two cleaning rod holes under buttplate. Marked on top of receiver ring with ground-off mum crest over characters for "44 Type". Left side receiver rail marked with Koishikawa Arsenal symbol and no Series mark. Mismatched numbers on the bolt handle and bayonet mount. Condition overall is good with the metal retaining over 75% finish, and most parts showing areas of patina. Wood has been sanded and left unfinished, now good, showing a few recent handling marks to the buttstock. Action operates smoothly; bore has darkening in the grooves, otherwise good with about good rifling. Bayonet operates and locks into position smoothly. Bayonet condition is good with areas of patina.
