Lot 295 WWII German P-38 AC-43 Semi-Automatic Pistol

WWII German P-38 AC-43 Semi-Automatic Pistol, #823g, 9mm, 5" barrel, blued finish, double action, Nazi eagle firing proof on slide, "(eagle)359" waffenampts on frame and slide, hammer drop safety, drift adjustable blade front sight and fixed rear sight with small "u" slot, all visible numbers matching, post-war Austrian eagle and BH police stamp on frame above trigger guard, lanyard loop, bottom mag release, dark brown Bakelite grooved grips, and one blued steel magazine marked P.38v, with faint "WaA135" waffenampt. Condition is good retaining approx. 80% original blued finish, with wear to the sides of the muzzle, high edges of the slide, tops of the sights, tips of the hold open and safety levers, and edges of the trigger guard. Front grip strap appears to have been cold blued and has a brownish patina; mag release is heavily pitted and may have been refinished, with edgewear to the lanyard loop. Action, hold open, and hammer drop safety all function properly; bore is lightly frosted overall with strong lands and grooves. Grips show light wear and age, with the right grip having a large well-worn chip at the bottom right. Magazine shows a dull refinish with only slight wear from use. Est.: $700-$1,000. (C&R/PPT)
