Swiss Model 1878 Vetterli Bolt Action Rifle, #167993, 10.4x38mm Swiss RF cal., 33.2" barrel, blued finish, hardwood stock, blade front sight and adjustable leaf rear sight with "U" notch. Cleaning rod mounted under the barrel. Marked "(Swiss Cross)/WAFFENFABRIK/ BERN/M:78." on left-side receiver. Matching numbers except bolt body. Condition overall is fine with the metal retaining over 90% finish. The straw-colored bolt handle has toned to a primarily brown color. There is one larger impression on the left side of the buttstock, otherwise showing mostly light handling marks. Action operates smoothly, bright bore is excellent with well-defined rifling.
