Early British No. 1 Mk 1* Lee-Enfield Bolt Action Rifle, #6238C, .303 Brit. cal., 25.2" barrel, blued finish, walnut stock set, blade front sight with protectors and adjustable tangent rear sight. Marked onright side action body "(Crown)/ER/ENFIELD/1904/SHTLE/I*". Matching number on bolt handle and rear sight leaf. Rifle has the following early features: Early action body without charger bridge and with sliding bolt head, early rear sight and hand guard; early front sight with closed ears. Long-range dial sight and pointer. Early Number 3 magazine with cutoff. An excellent condition British Pattern 14 leather sling is attached. Condition overall is very good, the metal retaining approx. 85% finish, with toning and a dent to the magazine case. Receiver shows pitting to the right side. Wood is very good with sharp "S" markings on the butt tang and forend. Action operates smoothly; bore has darkening in the grooves, otherwise good with good rifling. No visible import marks.
