^Lot 336 National Postal Meter M1 Semi-Automatic Carbine

National Postal Meter M1 Semi-Automatic Carbine, #1463244, .30 Carbine cal., 18" barrel, original parkerized finish, flat bolt, walnut stock set, blade front sight with protectors and two-position flip rear sight. A U.S.G.I. oiler and very good condition green cotton sling are attached, and a very good condition 15-rd. magazine stamped "G-Q" on the spine is fitted. Marked "NATIONAL/POSTAL METER" on rear receiver tang, and "U.S.CARBINE/CAL.30 M1" on top of receiver ring. Barrel behind the front sight is marked "UNDERWOOD/2-43/(flaming bomb)". There is a faint stamp in the sling slot and a "(circle)P" firing proof on the underside of the pistol grip. A Social Security number has been electric pencil engraved onto the right-side receiver. Condition overall is very good with the metal retaining approx. 80% of its gray (now turning green) parkerizing with some areas showing darkening and the buttplate cleaned bright. Wood has been cleaned leaving a rough appearance, now very good, showing a few old handling marks. Action operates smoothly, bright bore is very good with very good rifling. No visible import marks.
