Lot 371 Very Early Winchester Model 42 Standard Grade Slide-Action Shotgun

Very Early Winchester Model 42 Standard Grade Slide-Action Shotgun, #13856. .410 bore 28" plain barrel has a 3" chamber and is choked Full. The Model 42 action and takedown mechanism are similar to a Model 12; receiver is unengraved, the tubular 17-groove slide handle and uncheckered pistol grip stock are Field Grade walnut but have 2" white diamonds inlaid in the buttstock, and a Pachmayr Whiteline buttplate installed. Mfg'd in 1934, 2nd year of production. Condition is well used in the field, with approx. 50% finish remaining. Buttstock has been sanded but not refinished; receiver, barrel and magazine tube have lost much bluing from carry and use. Action still locks tight and functions correctly; however bore is bright.
