^Lot 400 Springfield M1 Garand Semi-Automatic Rifle

Springfield M1 Garand Semi-Automatic Rifle, #1633481, .30-06 cal., 24" barrel, parkerized finish, walnut stock set, blade front sight with protectors and early adjustable aperture rear sight with locking bolt and flush nut. A fair condition U.S.G.I. M1907 leather sling is attached, and a combination tool, cleaning thong, and grease pots are enclosed in the butt trap. Marked on receiver tang "U.S. RIFLE CAL..30 M1 SPRINGFIELD ARMORY". Right side of barrel marked "3-S-A-5-43". Bolt, trigger housing, hammer, and operating rod all marked "SA". There is a faint "(circle)P" firing proof on the underside of the stock wrist. Condition overall is very good with the metal retaining approx. 80% of its dark refinish, showing patina spots to left side of receiver, operating rod handle, and magazine floorplate. Stock has been sanded and stained, showing one putty repair to the right side of the forend, now very good, with an even dark color. Action operates smoothly; bore has frosting in the grooves, otherwise good with about good rifling. No visible import marks. Est.: $1,000-$1,200. (C&R/PPT)
