^Lot 626 Austrian M95 Mannlicher Straight-Pull Rifle

Austrian M95 Mannlicher Straight-Pull Rifle, #M9504909, 8x56Rmm, 19.8" barrel, blued finish, hardwood stock set, inverted "V" front sight and adjustable folding leaf rear sight with "V" notch. Marked on top of receiver ring "STEYR/M.95". Top of barrel shank stamped with large "S" indicating conversion to 8x56Rmm. Matching number on bolt handle and on renumbered buttstock. Condition overall is very good as arsenal reconditioned and shortened in the post-WWI era, the metal retaining approx. 90% finish, with frosting to the magazine case and battering to the stacking hook. Wood has been sanded and varnished over old handling marks and gouges, now darkened with a couple of recent scratches. Action operates smoothly; bore has darkening in the grooves, otherwise good with light frosting. Import engraved and re-serial numbered by importer on left-side receiver. Est.: $400-$600. (C&R/PPT)
