^Lot 634 Shortened Belgian Model 1889 Mauser Bolt Action Rifle

Shortened Belgian Model 1889 Mauser Bolt Action Rifle, #B9665, 7.65x53mm, 22" barrel, blued finish, hardwood stock set, inverted "V" front sight and adjustable folding leaf rear sight. Marked "ETAT BELGE BIRMINGHAM" on top of receiver ring. Matching numbers except for stock. Rifle appears to have been arsenal shortened to its present configuration. Condition overall is good with the metal retaining approx. 60% finish, showing thinning and patina and with a dent to the top of the barrel jacket. Wood has been sanded and oiled over old handling marks, now in good condition. Action operates smoothly; bore has a dark area mid barrel that may clean better, otherwise bright with very good rifling. No visible import marks. Est.: $300-$500. (C&R)
