Remington New Model Police Conversion Revolver, #7398, .38 RF cal., 3.5" octagon barrel with round blade front and fixed rear sights, nickel finish, smooth wood two-piece grips, unfluted 5-shot cylinder, brass trigger guard. Mfg'd from 1865-1873 with a total production of only approx. 18,000. Revolver is in fine overall condition retaining nearly all of the flaking nickel finish, with edgewear, small scratches and thinning of finish, primarily on the trigger guard and straps. Rear grip strap shows a light freckling of surface rust. Wood grips are in good condition with small mars and areas of staining. Action works well and the timing is good; bore is fair with defined rifling. Est.: $1,000-$1,500. (Antique)
