Naval Marked Civil War Whitney Navy Revolver, Altered to Metallic Cartridge, #31250, .38 RF cal., 7.6" octagonal barrel marked "E. Whitney/N. Haven" and "(naval anchor)" at top flat has hinged lever below; round 6-shot cylinder; solid frame with brass trigger guard has integral straps and 2-pc. walnut grips. Mfg'd late 1850s-early 1860s. Condition is good as configured retaining approx. 90% bright nickel (traces to cylinder, bit of knackering at frame lugs), sharp edges and markings. Grips are sound showing light marks, much finish. Action is crisp, bright bore shows frosting with sharp rifling. Rare with naval anchor marking. Est.: $1,000-$1,500. (Antique)
