Ornate Martini Action Fullstock Sporting Rifle Having Remington Barrel, NVSN, .32-40 CF cal., key-retained 30.25" octagonal barrel with buckhorn sights, marked "Remington Arms Co., Ilion, N.Y. U.S.A." at top flat; engraved receiver has 180-degree lever at right that drops open the breechblock, auto-extraction, right-offset hammer, adjustable single set trigger. Finely carved and checkered walnut forend and pistol-grip buttstock have horn nosecap, sweeping cheekrest, steel buttplate. Condition is near fine retaining approx. 90% barrel blue, silvered receiver with 50% fiery case colors. Stocks are sound and smooth showing wear to checkering, sharp carving, lovely grain and color, added finish. Left half of nosecap missing. Action is crisp, brilliant bore shows light frosting toward muzzle, sharp rifling. Est.: $1,200-$1,800. (C&R)
