Lot 181 U.S. Springfield Armory Model 1903 Bolt Action Sniper Rifle
U.S. Springfield Armory Model 1903 Bolt Action Sniper Rifle, #282395, .30-06 cal., 24" barrel dated SA 12-19 with a good bore. Rifle was originally mfg'd in 1907 and rebuilt after the war, originally niter blued but now has a parkerized refinish that shows use. The finger groove stock has been sanded with handling marks, a few dents and scratches, and a visible "(circle)P" but no cartouche. Scope is a Warner & Swasey Model 1913, Serial #5587, in typical military condition, with cloudy optics that may clean and includes the scope case. The rubber eyepiece is pliable and in good condition. There is old black paint on the scope body, which is typical of military use. The leather scope case was made by Diamond Co. and marked on the back with inspector's initials. Scope case is in good condition having some crazing, with a new-made shoulder strap and closing strap. Included is a M1907 sling with a unit disc attached and a nickel oiler stored in the buttstock. Est.: $2,600-$3,400. (C&R)
