Custom Falling Block Works Model J Single Shot Rifle, #J546, .45-70 cal., 27" heavy barrel without sights, barrel is drilled and tapped for scope base, blue finish, custom Exhibition Grade fancy walnut two-piece pistol grip stock with a beaded cheekpiece and checkered steel buttplate. Topped with Weaver two-piece bases and rings. Left side of receiver is marked "FALLING BLOCK WORKS MAYBEE, MICH." Rifle is in near excellent overall condition retaining approx. 96%-98% blue finish with handling marks only. Custom stock is in near excellent condition with outstanding figure, fit and finish; checkered steel butt plate provides a 14" LOP. Bore is very good with defined rifling, and action locks up tight on this interesting custom Falling Block in the venerable .45-70 chambering.
