^Lot 300 Springfield Model 1903 Bolt Action Rifle

Springfield Model 1903 Bolt Action Rifle, #662193, .30-06 cal., 24" barrel, blued finish, walnut stock set, blade front sight with attached hood and adjustable folding leaf rear sight. A fair condition U.S.G.I. Model 1907 leather sling is attached to the swivels. Marked on top of receiver ring "U.S. SPRINGFIELD ARMORY MODEL 1903". Barrel behind front sight is marked "SA(Flaming Bomb)4-18". There is a boxed "J.E.C." cartouche on the left-side forward of the wrist and a faint "(circle)P" firing proof on the underside of the wrist. Condition overall is very good with the metal retaining approx. 80% finish, with the receiver now toned to a silvery color. There is a crack to the left-side forend below the rear sight, otherwise the wood is good, showing handling marks and scratches to the darkened finish. Action operates smoothly, bright bore is good with good rifling. Est.: $1,000-$1,200. (C&R)
