^Lot 314 German Kar98a Mauser Bolt Action Rifle

German Kar98a Mauser Bolt Action Rifle, #5239, 8x57mm, 23.62" barrel, blued finish, hardwood stock set, inverted "V" front sight and adjustable tangent rear sight. Marked on top of receiver ring "(crown)/DANZIG/1912". Left-side receiver rail marked with Imperial Eagle and "Kar.98." in Gothic script. Matching numbers on bolt assembly and trigger guard/magazine. Mismatched numbers on underside of buttstock and on barrel bands. Inside of bolt handle is flat with checkering. There is a transverse wood dowel repair to the stock forward of the wrist, and the trigger guard locking screws are missing. Condition overall is good with the metal retaining about 40% finish showing patina to the buttplate. Wood is good with overall bruises, scuffs, and scratches to the finish. Action operates smoothly, bright bore is very good with very good rifling. No visible import marks. Est.: $1,000-$1,400. (C&R)
