WWII German M35 No Decal Steel Helmet, Named, rough textured original dark gray/green over paint, rolled rim, riveted vent holes, stamped markings inside read "?S64" , lot number unreadable, soldier's name is written in white paint "Bohs" on rear rim area, eight-tongue leather liner with original drawstring, original black leather chinstrap with stamped number markings near tip and period repair. Condition is good, the outer surface shows a heavy original over paint with numerous chips, scratches, scuffs, and minor rust around the top. The inside shows the original dark green paint with some scratches, soiling, minor rust, and scattered tiny white paint drops (may have been stored in the vet's garage). Liner is dark, age cracked, heavily soiled, stiff, and has a couple of small tears. Chinstrap is dry and cracked, with a period sewn repair, but is all there. Looks like a vet bring-back that has never been touched. Est.: $500-$700.
