^Lot 320 WWII German M42 Single Decal Army Steel Helmet

WWII German M42 Single Decal Army Steel Helmet, with liner and chinstrap. Has an original Army eagle decal on the left side that is about 95%. Dark green lightly textured original paint, stamped rivet holes, no rolled rim on this model, stamped markings inside read "NS64" and "D221". Eight-tongue leather liner is missing the drawstring. Black leather chinstrap is missing the tip on the long section. Condition is good, the outer body showing age, wear, scratches, scuffs, and paint losses down to rusted bare metal. Decal is still very nice showing some age and light wear. The inside paint shows wear and age, with some rust patina around the liner band and in the center top. Liner is very dry and stiff, shows heavy soiling and age cracking, and a couple of small holes. Chinstrap is very dry and cracked. Est.: $500-$700.
