Winchester Model 1894 Saddle Ring Carbine, Possibly Indian Decorated, #314249, .25-35 W.C.F. cal., 20" barrel has standard sights and markings, receiver a saddle ring at left, walnut forend has 5 brass tacks at right, buttstock 11 brass tacks at right, 2 left side. Mfg'd 1905. Condition is good retaining no original finishes, being generally lightly-oxidized gray gunmetal showing scattered light erosion, good edges and markings. Buttstock shows significant repaired breaks at wrist and comb, heavy use; forend is sound with light marks. Bright tacks were not removed to verify age. Front sight missing pinned blade. Accompanying tag states gun came from Flathead Reservation in Montana. Action is crisp, bore shows frosting and deep rifling. Est.: $900-$1,200. (C&R)
