Winchester Model 1886 Lever Action Rifle, #45587, .45-70 CF cal., 26" octagonal barrel, standard sights, marked with maker's name and address at top flat, caliber at breech; receiver marked "?Model 1886?" at top tang, 1884-85 patent dates and serial number lower. Oil-finished walnut stocks have steel nosecap and crescent buttplate. Mfg'd 1890. Condition is fair. A victim of poor storage, rifle retains perhaps 15% original blue under peppering and light erosion; receiver has silvered with corresponding oxidation and erosion. Edges and markings are good. Stocks are sound and smooth with light marks, neatly stamped "W. Koker" at each side of forearm/buttstock. Action is sticky, bore shows overall erosion, fair rifling. Missing nosecap screw. Will benefit greatly from a sympathetic cleaning. Est.: $1,000-$1,200. (Antique)
