Lot 624 French Model 1873 Double Action Revolver

French Model 1873 Double Action Revolver, #G80793, 11x17.8Rmm, 4.5"octagon-to-round barrel, bright finish, checkered walnut grips, bead front sight and "V"-notched rear sight. Marked on right-side frame "Mre d' Armes/St Etienne". Top of barrel marked "Mle 1873", and "S.1878" on the right side. Inspector letters "M" and "J" on left-side barrel, and controller's shields stamped on both sides of frame. Visible numbers match except for screw head on right side. Condition overall is good with the bright finish mostly darkened except for a few protected areas, with some areas showing patina. Grips are fair with overall bruises, handling marks, and flattening to the checkering. Action locks, cycles, and ejects smoothly; bore has mild frosting, otherwise very good with very good rifling; chambers have residue that may clean better, otherwise good. Est.: $500-$700. (Antique)
