Early German NSKK Motorcycle Crash Helmet, for the NSKK motorcycle riders, with 1st pattern large Nazi eagle front plate, black leather body with padded outer rim and padded top ridge, wire mesh vent holes, thick leather neck guard, wide leather chinstrap to cover the ears with roller buckle, nine-tongue leather liner with broken tie string, thick patent leather visor. Condition is fair to good but showing age, the body showing some crazing, light cracking, and soiling; visor is stiff and shows shrinkage to the patent leather coating, the eagle has lost most of its silver wash and is fading to a dark copper color, with losses to the black paint in the swastika. Neck guard shows scuffs and cracking to the rear edge, chinstraps show age and minor cracking and scuffs, with some verdigris around the snaps. Liner shows much age, cracking, and scuffs. Faint maker's ink stamp on neck guard and marked size 57 on the liner. Est.: $300-$500.
