^Lot 651 WWI/WWII German M18 Transitional Steel Helmet

WWI/WWII German M18 Transitional Steel Helmet, reworked for the Nazi era. Rough textured dark green over paint inside and out, reddish brown spots to resemble camouflage may be a recent addition, lug type vent holes, large rivets, eight-tongue Nazi era light brown leather liner with steel band, no chinstrap present. Stamped size marking inside looks like "AL64". Under the left lug vent is what looks like remnants of a shield-shaped decal of an Army eagle but lacks any definition. Condition is good, showing minor chips, scratches, scuffs, and light age to the outer surface. The inside shows scratches, scuffs, and minor paint losses around the inside rim, and light rust patina in the top. Liner shows age, light soiling, is missing the drawstring, but is still supple.
