^Lot 699 Czech Model VZ 24 Mauser Bolt Action Rifle

Czech Model VZ-24 Mauser Bolt Action Rifle, #22279, 8x57mm, 23.2" barrel, blued finish, hardwood stock set, inverted "V" front sight with protectors and adjustable tangent rear sight. Marked on left receiver rail "ZBROJOVKA BRNO, A.S.VZ.24." No crest on top of receiver ring. There is a hand-stamped serial number only on the left side. Mismatched numbers engraved on bolt handle. Rifle was probably in Romanian service with left-side buttstock stamped "AR 8473". Cleaning rod is missing. Condition overall is very good with the metal retaining approx. 70% finish, the bolt assembly cleaned bright, now showing fine pitting. Hand guard has chipping at the rear, otherwise the wood is good showing old and new dents and handling marks to the darkened finish. Action operates smoothly, bore has darkening in the grooves with very good rifling. Import stamped on right side of barrel. Est.: $400-$600. (C&R)
