Leman/Lancaster, PA" ahead of the hammer with its unique very tall cocking spur; brass fittings comprise 2-pc. trigger guard with front sling swivel, flat buttplate, serpentine sideplate, nosecap retaining the button-tip steel ramrod. Walnut 3/4 stock has 2 steel bands (top with sling swivel) having front retaining springs. Mfg'd early 1860s in small qty. Stock is sound, the buttstock being mostly smooth, forestock showing dings and minor wood losses at bands, chipping at ramrod channel, thin varnish finish. Action is very strong (nipple replaced), smoothbore shows general light erosion. Est.: $600-$900. (Antique)
