Lot 82 Colt Cloverleaf Spurtrigger Revolver

Colt Cloverleaf Spurtrigger Revolver, #5786, .41 RF cal., 2.9" barrel marked "Colt's House Pistol/Hartford, CT. U.S.A." flanked by crosses, has sliding ejector rod within the cylinder pin; iconic 4-shot cylinder is unmarked; brass frame marked "Pat. Sep. 19, 1871" in topstrap sighting groove has removable left sideplate, integral spurtrigger sheath and "bird's head" straps, 2-pc. varnished walnut grips. Mfg'd 1871-76. Condition is good retaining traces of blue but mostly smooth brown gunmetal, age-darkened brass, fine edges and markings. A 1/4" "T" is stamped on both frame and grip at left side. Grips are sound having light marks, 4 "kill" notches at left, much original varnish. Action is crisp, bore has light oxidation, fair rifling. Est.: $600-$900. (Antique)
