Canadian Proofed Winchester Model 1892 Saddle-Ring Carbine, #744010, .44 WCF (.44-40) cal., 20" round barrel, standard sights, (crown)(crossed flags)DCP" proof mark at breech, oil-finished walnut stocks with curved buttplate.  One of approx. 20,000 Model 1892 Carbines in 44 WCF that were approved by Canadian inspectors on behalf of the British government for use during WWII.  Mfg'd 1913.  Condition is good retaining approx. 20% barrel/mag blue, else lightly oxidized gray gunmetal having fine edges and markings.  Stocks are sound showing typical marks of age and use, buttstock with 1" crack at right frame, .75" chip at toe.  Action is crisp, bore shows moderate erosion and good rifling.  Est.:  $1,500-$2,500.
