French Model 1886 M93 R35 Lebel Bolt Action Carbine, #51119, 8x50Rmm, 17.7" barrel, black-painted finish, two-piece hardwood stock, blade front and adjustable rear folding leaf Berthier type sights. Marked on left-side receiver "MANUFACTURE D'ARMES Chatellerault" and "MLE 1886 M93 R35". Right-side barrel shank marked "MA C 1938". Matching numbers on magazine, buttstock and forend. Mismatched number on bolt handle. Condition overall is very good. The black-painted finish has been removed from the receiver, now retaining about 40%, with the balance showing overall flaking and scratches. There is a crack to the right-side buttstock forward of the wrist and a carved area on the left side, otherwise the wood is good showing dents and handling marks to the dark finish. Action operates smoothly; bore has slight darkening in the grooves, otherwise bright with very good rifling. No visible import marks. Est.: $600-$800. (C&R)
