CHILE, Santiago, bust ½ real, Ferdinand VII (bust of Charles IV), 1817 FJ, no dot between ET and IND, NGC MS 64 (Colección Val y Mexía Label). Cal-462; KM-64. 1.67 grams. Choice luster with lovely toning and very sharp details, no visible wear or marks, second finest in NGC census behind a single MS 66 (variety not mentioned). Note: this is the final colonial issue; for an example of the first issue of the Republic (same date), see lot 1946 in this auction. Pedigreed to the Val y Mexia Collection.
