Lot 958 COLOMBIA, Popayán, bust 2 reales, Ferdinand VII (bust of Charles IV), 1813 J•F, NGC XF 40,
COLOMBIA, Popayán, bust 2 reales, Ferdinand VII (bust of Charles IV), 1813 J•F, NGC XF 40, finest known in NGC census, ex-Becerra. Restrepo-114.5; KM-70.2; Cal-899. Bold strike with much luster and traces of rainbow toning around details, hairlined on obverse, the reverse slightly crude (as made) and with small arc-shaped void on top edge, but overall rather nice for this scarce date struck in the same year as the copper provisional coinage from this same mint. Pedigreed to the Becerra Collection (stated on label).
