COLOMBIA, Bogotá, bust 1 real, Charles III, 1776 J•J, mintmark N•R, NGC VG 10, ex-Becerra. Restrepo-38.7; KM-46.1; Cal-503. Richly toned and certainly better than the assigned grade, as the legends are bold and crisp, with faint traces of luster, just the centers are a bit weakly struck, overall quite nice for this very scarce date (according to Restrepo) that has special appeal to U.S. collectors. Pedigreed to the Becerra Collection (stated on label).
