COLOMBIA, Cartagena, copper "imitation cob" 2 reales, date not visible (ca. 1815), struck over a State of Cartagena provisional 2 reales of 1813, NGC AU 58 BN, finest known in NGC census. Restrepo-118.1; KM-unl; Cal-unl. A choice piece with bold details of both host and over-strike visible in different places but notably with original 1813 date near edge, dark copper color all over, lions and castles typically transposed, a rustic memento of the 1815 Siege of Cartagena that ended in success for the royalists.
