COLOMBIA, Popayán, gold 1 escudo, 1829 RU/M, ex-JEAS. Restrepo-162.16; Sed-unl (3 for type); KM-unl (81.2 for type); Fr-72. 3.30 grams. Lustrous but cleaned AU with light toning, bold strike except for center on reverse, adjustment marks on Liberty and light scratch in front of face, the over-assayer (clear) probably at least scarce as missing in Eldorado. Pedigreed to the JEAS Collection.
