COLOMBIA, Popayán, gold 1 escudo, 1832 RU/M, ex-JEAS. Restrepo-162.25; Sed-unl (3 for type); KM-unl (81.2 for type); Fr-72. 3.40 grams. Bold AU with luster and toning in legends (also dark sediment around some letters), sharp full rims, die-crack across top of Liberty, possible 3/2 in date like what is seen for 1831 RU/M, missing in Eldorado in any case. Pedigreed to the JEAS Collection.
