COLOMBIA, Medellín, gold 2 pesos, 1885/74, fineness 0.666/0.900, very rare, ex-JEAS. Restrepo-327.1; Sed-35; KM-A154a; Fr-105a. 3.07 grams. Polished XF with scratches in front of neck, from the same three-coin series in lower fineness as lot 1117 above, similarly represented today by only five known examples, only two of which have been on the market in the past thirteen years, the others similarly damaged or in lower grade, egregiously missing in Eldorado. Pedigreed to the JEAS Collection.
