ECUADOR, Quito, 5 francs, 1858 GJ, rare, NGC MS 61. KM-39; Seppa-Anderson-73. Proof-like luster with hairlines and very slight high-point flattening in hair, popular with collectors as a rare one-year type that was cut short by a massive earthquake in 1869 and the fact that it circulated at differing rates from 8 to 10 reales.
