PERU, Cuzco, 2R-sized proclamation medal, 1839, new Constitution / Gamarra, NGC UNC details / cleaned. Fonrobert-9241. Obverse with open book inside rays showing CONS / TI- on left page and TU- / CION / • on right page, legend SANCIONADA POR EL CONGRESO JENERAL DEL PERÚ; reverse with tulip border encircling [rosette] / JURADA / EN EL CUZCO A 9 / DE DBRE.DE 1839 / BAJO LA PRESIDENCIA / DEL RESTAURADOR DE / SU PATRIA EL GRAN / MARISCAL / Gamarra / [rosette]. Lightly olive toned over muted luster, the reverse with slight central weakness, a few minor digs, and faint old hairlines, apparently scarce as we cannot find any recent comparables.
