Lot 205 1787 Connecticut Miller 38-GG R4 DBL VF20
Technical grade at least EF40 and choice where properly struck, but more than a third of the planchet was too thin to receive a proper impression from the dies. The unstruck portion shows the usual pre-striking chipping and flaws while the properly struck portion is smooth with just a few small flaws, the notable one being a void between the tops of the 7 & 8 in the date. There are a few rim bruises on both sides including two under the 87. Frosty medium brown. Nicely centered with a strong date and legends where the dies actually made it to the planchet. The AUCIORI error is especially bold. Weight 142.0 grains.
