Lot 105 1786 Connecticut Miller 5.2-L R5 MBL, PCGS graded VF20

Mostly glossy dark olive brown and steel with lighter brown on the obverse devices. Smooth except for a thin linear fissure from the field off the chin to the shoulder and tiny planchet flakes on the lower half of the reverse. The date is strong and the legends are clear except for UC due to the normal swelling at that spot. The only contact marks are a light scuff on the neck and a pair of tiny rim nicks under the shoulder. Struck in medal orientation with the dies head-to-head. Not perfect but still smoother than the Perkins, Ford, or Taylor examples. The attribution and Twin Leaf provenance are noted on the PCGS label.
