^Lot 221 1788 Connecticut Miller 16.3-N R2 DBL, NGC graded VF20

Glossy tan and light brown on the devices with light chocolate covering the fields and protected areas. Looks perfectly smooth to the unaided eye but a glass reveals microscopic roughness in protected areas. No verdigris and the only notable marks are some faint hairline scratches on the seated figure. This piece has very nice eye appeal. Later die state with strong die clashmarks in the field before the portrait. The date is bold. The reverse is slightly misaligned to the top causing weakness on the top of the seated figure.
